1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using The Clean Startup (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of the Service
The Clean Startup is a two-sided marketplace that connects people in recovery (“Founders”) with people and organizations who wish to invest time, goods, housing, capital, or labor in that recovery (“Partners”). The Service facilitates connections. It is not a provider of medical, clinical, financial, or legal advice.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
4. Memberships and Fees
Founders pay a monthly membership fee as published on the Service. Fees are billed in advance, non-refundable except as required by law, and may change with notice. Partners use the Service free of charge. A separate charitable arm, The Clean Foundation, may cover memberships for Founders who cannot pay; such coverage is at its discretion.
5. User Content
You retain ownership of content you post. By posting, you grant The Clean Startup a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating the Service. You are responsible for your content and represent that you have the rights to post it.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to: (a) violate any law; (b) harass, defraud, or endanger others; (c) misrepresent your identity or circumstances; (d) post content that is illegal, defamatory, or infringing; (e) attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system. We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations.
7. Marketplace Transactions
Partners’ commitments (time, goods, housing, capital, labor) are between the Founder and Partner. The Clean Startup is not a party to those transactions and makes no warranty as to outcomes. Where we facilitate capital transfers, applicable fees are disclosed at the time of transaction.
8. No Clinical or Professional Advice
Nothing on the Service constitutes medical, therapeutic, financial, or legal advice. If you are in crisis, contact emergency services or a qualified professional.
9. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Clean Startup disclaims all warranties and shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for any reason, including violation of these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
